A 47-year-old man charged after two Sundre youths were allegedly lured over the Internet is scheduled to enter a plea in two weeks.

The accused, who lives in Calgary, faces 10 charges, including procuring, Internet luring, possession and making of child pornography.

Charged on May 2 and released on bail, the accused made a brief appearance in Calgary provincial court on May 22.

Police say two youths, 16 and 17 years old, were contacted over the Internet and convinced to meet the accused in the Sundre area sometime before December 2011. The charges came following a four-month investigation launched after police received a public tip.

Jason Arthur Friend will be back in court on June 12 for plea.

Police have not closed their investigation and are asking anyone with information pertaining to the case to call the RCMP’s Alberta Internet Child Exploitation unit at 1-403-428-4906.
