Red Deer County’s first mayor says it’s time to go
After 21 years serving on Red Deer County council, Mayor Earl Kinsella has announced that he will not be running for re-election in the fall. Kinsella was elected as the county’s first mayor in 2007; previously he was the county’s reeve, a position appointed by county councillors. In total, he has served seven terms on council, since he was first elected as Div. 4 councillor in 1989. "I’m going to miss it, definitely," said 73-year-old Kinsella, "It’s always fun to be involved in the things that make the county a great place" ...
