 Benalto Park

Council approved a $20,000 contribution to Benalto School to go toward grounds improvements. The Benalto School Parent Society has been working to raise a total of $44,000 to build a public recreation space and to purchase basketball, hockey and soccer nets for the grounds.

The project includes the construction of a 20-by-30-metre multi-sport court, garbage and recycling bins, a picnic table and bench, and a three-pointer basketball net.

In the future they hope to put in tennis courts and have left a large open green space to further develop the site. The hamlet of Benalto does not currently have a playground in the community.

“The community has worked to come up with a lot of money and they didn’t ask us for much so this will be a great improvement for them,” said Archibald.
